Accidental swallowing of button battery

5 yrs old child came with history of ingestion ( accidental swallowing of button battery) . Family members gave him banana to eat . Xray suggested it not to be in stomach . Since it was a battery ( which is life threatening ) , endoscopy was attempted with food in stomach & unsure location .battery was found in stomach itself lost inside banana ( food ) , Safe retrieval of battery was done and child went home smiling after 1 hr .

P.S - 1) Battery ingestion can be fatal & lead to Death if battery accidentally opens .

2) To all parents never make your child eat anything in case of accidental swallowing of objects , Just visit your nearest Endoscopist Doctor.

3) Xrays should always be taken to confirm ingestion & position but xrays are never reliable in confirming location
